Nice pub, on last visit in the summer the landlord and ten others played some live music in the beer garden. Good beer and food too. Good summer pub. drg8844 - 30 Mar 2013 21:03 |
Good sized pub situated on the main road midway between Clevedon and Portishead. Decent beer garden with good views across the moors to the M5 split level section. There are also a few tables out the front. Theres a long front bar is which is rather dominated by a plasma at the far end. There are also a couple of black boards detailing the food on offer. Theres a cosier side bar and a separate dining area off of this which looked quite inviting with chocolate coloured leather seating. Staff seemed friendly, and theres a quiz night on Wednesdays and an open mic night on Sundays. Beers on offer were Wickwars IKB, Courage Best and Doom Bar. Good choice of ciders with Blackthorn, Thatchers Gold, Cheddar Valley and Addlestones. This seems to be a very pleasant pub, and I shall be returning to check out the food offering. After numerous recommendations to do so, finally visited this pub tonight (26/5/09). Over our 25 years in the area this pub has numerous landlords some good some dreadful. We both felt the welcome and general quality of the food well above average and strongly recommend this pub. We arrived at 6.30 to find an already 75% full dining room - very popular and I can see why! grapow - 26 May 2009 20:01 |
Still has the Butcombe Bitter, dining area at the rear but old fashioned bar area (1970's). If you fancy a pint OK but it dont bowl me over. bee578 - 8 Apr 2009 14:20 |
Had a few drinks here one night with a friend, very agreeable, had been before to dine 2 courses for 6-50p,but wouldn,t go out my way for the food in this bracket, I should have to try the main menu before passing comment, pleasant pub though. james55westhead - 3 Oct 2008 18:18 |
