Unfurtunatly, the current owners arn't 'Pub Material' and can be quite rude at times. so-much-so, that I no longer go in there. This is a shame beacuae this could be quite a nice pub if run properly. TNCSELECT - 21 Feb 2011 16:42 |
New landlady and bar staff-huge relief, this pub is now firmly looking up and to the future.I think it's fair to say that from the last time I visited the improvement in decor, atmosphere and friendliness is 100%.I look forward to many happy evenings spent there. chrisjourno - 1 Sep 2010 01:19 |
Popped in last weekend,Had the choice of Courage Best & Doombar. We opted for the Doom, and OMG what an "aptly named" pint it was on this visit. Pure vinegar, but according to the unfriendly bar woman who knew about as much about real ale as Colonal Sanders knows bout healthy eating;"it's fine cos all the others are drinking it"..... .........shall not be returning 2/10 fat_beer_badger - 22 Apr 2010 14:19 |
Yep, a much improved pub and I can't believe no-one has mentioned the peacock that (semi) lives in the backgarden - he's even got his own Facebook appreciation group! Still, our feathered friend is only one reason to visit this excellent community pub Russ_D - 22 Feb 2009 17:18 |
The 'Portcularse' has a new landlord, who has brought back the Pool table and dart board. There is a quiz night on Tuesday with live music on the weekend. There are usually 2 real ales on sale, with most main stream lagers and ciders also available. Come and vist the 'Singing Window', and you might also get 'Pegged'. Remember!......Don't underestimate the power of the peg! TNCSELECT - 12 Oct 2008 16:17 |
