| Nice Brakspear pub perfect for a stopover on the Ridgeway Walk. The new landlords are lovely and welcoming. The beer garden is nice and the food pretty good too. I would encourage walkers/local residents to go and visit this cute little place regularly to stop it becoming another casualty to the housing development phenomenon. | was charged �8.90 for one pint of oxford gold and one orange juice plus soda water on saturday 9 apr. 2011, 2:10pm-ish. the young lady at the bar said orange juice and soda water were charged separately and that made �5.40 for the less than a pint of the mixture. drwen - 9 Apr 2011 21:11 |
| Visited on 23rd May 09. It's a lovely pub, under new management (they'd been there less than a week when I visited). Friendly service, good range of beers and spirits. The food was fantastic - lovely local ingredients, decent portions and good value for money. I just wish I lived locally so I could go back often, but it's a bit of a hike from London. | Just back from visiting this pub. Beer remains as good as ever, though the new owners (in the last few weeks I understand) have made it into a more restaurant style, with most tables laid out for food during mealtimes.
