A fantastic little Dales boozer, which we incorporated into our long circular walk - meant to stop for a quick pint, but ended up having a couple plus lunch. A real 'dogs-and-logs' pub, with locals rubbing shoulders with walkers and mountain bikers. Check out the photo of 'JLS' enjoying a pint there during a visit to the pub in April 2011 - it cracked us up! BatterseaBomber - 5 Mar 2012 15:16 |
What a lovely place. The landlord and landlady are very friendly and welcoming. You will struggle to find a pub in a more remote location. Perfect for walkers and dogs. flagship - 10 Apr 2011 13:50 |
Fantastic, you will struggle to find a pub with more character than this one. We stayed there last week and I have to say that although the rooms do need a wee modernisation, the atmosphere, real ale, malt whisky collection and the food would take some beating. Small menu but all local and everything you could want (always worries me when a small pub has a large menu anyway, for obvious reasons regarding pre prepared or even bought in crap) but being a Chef myself I could tell that the food was not only made from top quality ingredients but loveingly and skillfully prepared, and a very welcome treat in the world of the modern pub. Very well run and most welcoming by the people who used to run the Blue Bell in Kettlewell I believe. Many thanks guys and we shall be back soon. Stonemonkey - 14 Apr 2010 15:10 |
Difficult to fault in any aspect. Superb location, great local beer and excellent food all served up by a warm and welcoming staff. Not a huge menu but we were all well pleased with what was available. The beer deserves a much wider audience. This place is what country pubs should all be about. REVERENDBAZ - 2 Jul 2009 17:45 |
after visiting the pub for 2 weeks in a row. It was what i expected it to be and more a very friendly warm welcome from the landlord, staff and the the locals.
