user reviews of the Wuthering Heights, Stanbury

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Excellent pub with friendly and hard working staff. Good food available every lunchtime and Thursday to Saturday evenings. Three distinct areas, being dining room, pool room and main bar which includes computer for public use (usually occupied by children playing games or teenagers browsing Facebook). Theakstons Best, Old Peculier, and a guest beer often of medium strength always available and all kept in fine condition. Very mixed collation of locals which makes for a lively and friendly ambience. Well worth visiting.

Very busy on boxing day, and now seems to be back at the heart of this small village, which still has its primary school and working farms. The newish landlord is keeping his Theakstons and Everards very well. One regular is a jolly 87 year old, who sits in the same corner of the pub as his father and grandfather before him.

Now offers free internet access, fairly quiet at lunchtimes unfortunately, menu seems to be varied, though I've not tried the food.

Last time I was in, the landlady spent a couple of hours telling us what a dismal year she'd had. It's changed hands since then, though.
