Read the other comments, can't say I've met the landlord but the girl who has served me on a Saturday afternoon is pleasant. All the locals seem to be members of a serious celeb deadpool. Decent rock soundtrack and Hartington IPA. Not bad for a quick visit, but could do with a bit of a tidy up. greyhead - 30 May 2014 19:33 |
The makings of a decent pub, although the owner is a tool who is obviously trying to cultivate a contrarian character for himself but just comes across as rude, and to women in particular. Sebo - 20 May 2012 14:42 |
An unmodernised feel to both pub and customers. Found it relatively friendly although the locals do tend to hog the bar. The pint of Hartington bitter was quite nice. anonymous - 11 Apr 2012 21:56 |
What can I say.... As a very wet potential customer, I stuck my head in the door to ask the only person in there if dogs were allowed only to be greeted with an "Oy, OY Oy what you doing?, don't just walk into a pub with a dog without asking. I've got a staffy in ere who'll rip her face off"!! He followed that up with she is allowed in but let me make sure mines out of the way. I said don't bother, I'm not staying to which he replied "remember, don't just walk in a pub with a dog on a lead without asking first!! Twenty first century customer service..... Shame really, I've run pubs for years and love Hartingtons beers, oh well, Black Lion at Consall for me then. pubdog1 - 18 Jun 2011 19:21 |
Excellent Hartington range of beers plus at least one guest. Visited on a quiet Saturday lunchtime, only a few in, but pleasane atmosphere nonetheless. Very friendly Staffy pub dog. Gristy - 7 Nov 2009 21:44 |
