This former historic and prestigious hotel and pub remains closed. It's quickly falling into serious disrepair - and becoming an eyesore in Lewes town centre. Probably unlikely to reopen - in any of its previous uses. tradervic - 10 May 2020 20:47 |
Closed - notwithstanding it's prime central location. Looks very run down. wealdman - 11 Jun 2017 09:48 |
What a dive. Really dirty. Full of muppets. Beer tasted like vinegar. Shame because it's a lovely old building. swebbzzz - 8 Mar 2016 14:15 |
What I like about this pub is the simple fact it keeps all the useless shits in one place leaving the decent pubs in the area scum free. Clearly you can read and are educated so believe the reviews and go to any other pub in the area other than this. ThePubber - 12 May 2013 22:15 |
I was enticed in by the sign outside saying 'try one of our handmade pies'. God it was awful. Microwaved to death with a dry plate of chips and peas, served by a chav in a shell suit. It's a shame really as the pub does have atmosphere and could be a very good town centre local. The beer was good but avoid the food if you don't want to feel very sick afterwards. flagship - 10 Mar 2013 14:38 |
