we called in on tuesday 27/03/2011 ordered 2 x HALVES orange & soda water was charged 3.08p.I queried the cost at the time. How is this price justified? A week later we called in at the black bull a minute up the road and was only charged 75p for a PINT a staggering difference of 2.33. for mainly water. hyacinth - 6 Apr 2012 12:04 |
Lovely cozy pub with a log fire, welcoming staff and good freshly prepared food. Good for locals and visitors alike. EC11 - 25 Oct 2011 17:43 |
Nice pub, good beer and food. It is a shame however, that the food is accompanied with the hedge-wedge 'Rocket' salad that was popular in the 1990s. riggwelter - 14 May 2010 01:02 |
This place looked very inviting from the outside, and it's in a great location with rolling moorland just over the top of the hill. I was expecting a real old fashioned interior. Unfortunately, I was presented with a featureless modern interior and a pub that is now clearly aimed at diners. Two real ales were on - Holt Mild and McMullens Cask Ale. It's such a shame that people feel the need to ruin pubs such as this. blue_scrumpy - 5 May 2010 16:49 |
Called yesterday for a drink, not impressed with the new decor, that paint job is dreadful. The food has rocketed up in price - steak pie 8.70, soup 3.75, chips 2.45 - crazy from what they used to charge before Christmas. fweb - 2 Apr 2010 12:00 |
