This pub has now closed for good. Admiral have sold the building on condition that it can only be used as a restaurant or off- licence. It has been purchased by a local businessman & it is scheduled for demolition. A new building housing an IT business will replace it. I hope that Punch & more recently Admiral Taverns are proud of themselves. Ten years ago this was the best pub in Westhoughton but corporate greed has finally killed this pub! A nice friendly pub that is well worth a visit. The beer is spot on. EricTheKing - 20 Mar 2008 20:26 |
This pub used to be a place where all locals enjoyed getting together. However, since the latest landlady and landlord have taken over they have managed to drive out all their best customers leaving it with a terrible atmosphere. This is mainly due to how very rude they are to their customers including calling them names when they have left premises, shouting and nagging people for money before they have even had the chance to order a drink etc. The hygiene levels are poor and the beer tastes like it has come from the sewer on some occasions and if it doesn't you get a pint of froth at very expensive prices. anonymous - 15 Oct 2007 16:52 |
