Went in 2 days ago. We were greeted by a lovely warming log fire and a big smile from a friendly barmaid. A very well kept pint of Black Sheep , then some toasties. Great warm friendly atmosphere . It's a fantastic bonus that this pub is so dog friendly especially as the beach is close. Other pubs should learn just how easy it is to accept dogs and look at the increase in trade. mineisalandlord - 22 Nov 2009 08:51 |
Went in there on Thursday.Great views, nice beer and friendly staff. The only thing was that the menu was very unappealing, could of been more variety and less curry on it,after all how many people want a foreign dish when overlooking the sea? Ploughmans, salads, seafood more fish and local foods wouldnt of gone a miss. Not difficult really afterall the prices werent that cheap either! Shame. sweeties1975 - 19 Sep 2009 23:51 |
Thank you for the nice comment but I think that you are confusing The Royal with The Runswick Bay Hotel (my place. The Royal is nice too though. Thanks again, Robbie robbiestewart - 6 Jul 2008 23:01 |
This is a lovely friendly pub just taken over by new landlord Robbie. Good food and excellent beer (so my partner tells me). Really good atmosphere and comfortable bedrooms just upstairs if you really want to make a night of it. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. loobylu - 15 Nov 2007 11:57 |
Correction to July 4th review: With apologies to The RUNSWICK Hotel, it was there we found the beer much better, not the Cliffemount as stated. aleandhearty - 9 Aug 2007 14:46 |
