After several years of vandalism and quiet deterioration it has been renovated and reopened last week - as a NISA supermarket. Stamfordian - 2 Nov 2020 00:44 |
Large 50s council estate pub which used to belong to Home Ales and was always busy when the local engineering companies (especially Blackstone's) were open for business and equally busy, as a large number of their employees lived on the estate. The fortunes of the pub declined with the closure of the Home Brewery and the engineering factories. In recent years it has changed hands on a regular basis. It is currently closed and boarded up. The site with its car park is big enough for quite a few houses/flats, but it would be nice to think it can continue asd a pub. Stamfordian - 3 Jul 2015 12:34 |
