| I knew this pub in 1990 or thereabouts. It was a Hungry Horse just after that, and still is, which is a very good reason to steer clear, in my not so humble opinion. It was, and obviously still is, an out and out shit-hole. OK for those who don't care about pubs and who are perhaps easily pleased by facilities which are aimed at the moronic masses. | I notice the last review for this pub is in 2009. A lot has changed since then. I've used this pub (now a part of the hungry horse chain) a few times this year and each time the food and service have been excellent. we had a pre christmas meal here, we reserved a table for 7:30 and arrived early, but the table was ready for us, we ordered the meal and drinks and were seated by about 7:20, our meal arrived at precisely 7:30, maybe we were just lucky. But every time since we have never had to wait too long. The food is always well cooked and the service at the food point and at the table is always polite. Go on a Thursday and get a starter or a dessert for free, other days have other deals. A meal and soft drinks for 4 of us came to �41 - good value for a 2 course meal. | What a pathetic excuse for a pub. Waitress was very young... so snotty and rude. Food was disgraceful. My curry arrived COLD! Don't think it was even cooked properly! Waited an hour + for food! Staff all very amateur! Walking in and out of the kitchen non stop for chats - Kitchen playing VERY loud music!!
