please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Someone has brought it, all the signage has been taken down. Ominous...

A very eccentric little boozer which was under the same landlord for years and was generally filled with quarry men. Then went through a number of hands, but ended up with some brilliantly wacky people running a vegetarian B&B and live music venue. They got in some good Richs cider behind the bar, and various Blindmans beer. Pity it didnt work for them as was a good alternative venue and should have done well. Now sadly closed and up for sale for 200,000 which is surly a steal for such a great little pub?!

I can't comment on this pub, as I went on a wednesday lunchtime, about 1pm, but it was shut. Opened about 4pm. So best check opening times before visiting.

Great pub, discovered by chance a year or so ago. Been back a few times. Despite being stuck next to a main route its is still a traditional village pub but actually welcomes people except MPs - see signs on main road for confirmation. (In this respect it is completely the opposite of the George in the centre of the adjacent village Nunney which seems to attract the local inbreeds and neanderthals to its bar). The Bear has a good crack in the bar, good food, back yard/beer garden is huge and well cared for and the governor will show you how to play bar billiards.
