This pub is currently closed and boarded up. Try the nearby Remedy Bar & Brewhouse instead. blue_scrumpy - 30 Oct 2018 20:52 |
Visited the Cocked Hat on Saturday night, and was the last pub before our train back, so memories are a little sketchy. We had a pint of Cheating Rat which was enjoyable. I can't remember what else was available. Was standing room only at the time of our visit. RealAleRobUK - 15 Nov 2016 17:47 |
As previously mentioned, this pub has been taken over by Atwill Pubs and renamed the Cocked Hat. [ All their pubs seem to have “cock” in the title for some reason ] On entering the pub, the bar is on the left and a lounge on the right. There is comfortable seat in very dark green leather, and cream coloured walls featuring old pirnts of the local area. Also, an internal stained glass window. The bar features 5 or 6 beers mainly from local breweries. I had the Hornbeam Voyager, which was very nice. There were menus featuring pretty much standard pub grub, but at very reasonable prices. Will definitely eat here next time. 7/10 – worth going back to Martinsh - 8 Feb 2015 19:14 |
Now the "Cocked Hat". Very good pub with all round appeal ( except to diners), with pleasant furnishings, sport on TV and a good range of beers including a very good Trappers Hat at £2.30 (poss happy hour price). Good contrast to more boisterous Holts and Sams pubs on the square. mtaylor40 - 21 Apr 2014 18:21 |
This pub has now reopened following a short period of closure, and has been renamed The Cocked Hat. Four cask ales were on offer which were very good - this included the house beer (as brewed by Titanic), Thwaites Wainwrights and Conwy Infusion. The pub itself is smart yet traditional and was very busy on Saturday when we called. There was also a great range of pies at £2 each. So naturally we had to try them! - and very nice they were too. This pub is part of a small chain of pubs owned by Atwill Pubs, and faces St Marys church just up from the Marketplace in Stockport. All in all an excellent addition to the Stockport beer scene and will definitely call again soon. DoctorBarfly - 1 Apr 2014 20:34 |
