Beer update - Old Hooky, Uley and Wickwar 'Old Bob' on tap. Staff friendly as usual - great pub. Bit out of the way but worth the trip.

Great pub, well worth finding and also the rutted road over the old canal to get there. Has its own unique charm, quirky inside with lots of rooms leading into each other, outside patio and beer garden with country views. Staff were relaxed and friendly. Beers on tap were Old Hooky, Vale Ale and Festival Gold. Tried former and latter with no complaints whatsoever. Camp site in a field next to the pub and a sign indicating ducks, chickens and pigs out the back. Did not see any pigs but then I did have the pork escalope, which was very nice. Would definitely return for a chill out evening.

The rutted road leading to this pub makes an interesting approach. The inside is cosy and well decorated. However, we found the drinks prices to be a little expensive. 3 real ales were available - Vale Ale (Severn Vale), SA (Brains) and Old Hooky (Hook Norton), alongside Moles Black Rat cider.

Great pub: lovely beer, delicous food, good atmosphere, friendly host, even on a crowded Sunday afternoon. Nice walks nearby.

A pretty unique pub, so worth a visit just for the footpath, bridge and lovely countryside.

A good range of ale inside, served well - no complaints there.

Interior is littered with bit and bobs of old brewery tat and stuff from David Dickenson's shed. 'Quirky' I think the word would be. It's quite dark inside - which I guess works well on a winters evening, but would probably be a bit depressing on a Sunday afternoon I'd wager.

Clientle were an oddly mixed bunch, middle aged diners, twentysomething males and a few old blokes. In some places that would mean a smooth mix, but in here it seemed a bit odd. Certainly one or two of the diners looked a little perturbed by 35 of us turning up to have a beer.

All in all, a good pub worth a visit.
