A relatively unspoilt traditional, classic Cardiff pub!!. Nice stone built exterior and stained glass windows. The bar area has wooden floor boards and it feels like a traditional Cardiff boozing venue. Great to see Brain's Dark on tap and just £2.80/pint. tarkatherotter - 15 Sep 2018 21:08 |
Further to my last post, and regarding the nearby "Chapter": I think this cosy little pub would make a welcome change to those chilled by the draughty, noisy, echoing hall it is. Although the range of beers and value there are excellent, the seating, lighting, chilliness and acoustics do not make for a relaxing evening. eddybeer - 29 Jan 2014 19:10 |
This is a friendly little place with pleasant staff and regulars alike. It sports the "cask marque" logo justifiably. The almost adjoining vast "Chapter", (Guardian readers' multimedia/drinking Mecca) perhaps ironically helps this pub keep its cosy local feel. There's scope for restoration of its historic character, but how that would sit with matchday trade's not easy to say. eddybeer - 9 Jan 2014 21:47 |
Now under new landlords who have retained the two guest beers and local feel of the place. Top pub. acrylic - 19 Aug 2010 22:51 |
Straightforward and bustling with welcoming family-friendly atmosphere. Does the range of Brains' with excellent classic Dark and a guest ale. Parking is difficult but probably the right place to have a pre-match beer if on the way to see the Bluebirds or Blues at home Arctium_lappa - 10 Jan 2010 15:23 |
