This is the quietest pub I've personally ever been in on a Friday night (11/11/2016). From 8:45 on there were never more than 6 people (including me & wife) in the bar. At about 10:30 the barman disappeared out the back. When he re-appeared about 10 min's later we were about to ask him for a last drink when he said quite firmly "we're closing in 15 minutes". Not wishing to drink under pressure, we left! The quality of the London Pride was excellent. publover500 - 12 Nov 2016 21:20 |
Pretty good pub just off the South Downs. Worth a trip here. EyeOfTheTigerBeer - 9 Sep 2012 21:04 |
had a nice meal there last week . A well known and loved pub and is very cozy in the winter and fab outside in the summer. Huge area and hikers/walkers etc welcome. In terms of beer was driving so a no no. Menu has changed since my last visit and no more lamb shank. Good though with an odd menu as nothing seem to link up . Not as fantastic as before but quality and quantity of food still a very good standard. Yummy desserts as well. letsbefair - 25 Jan 2012 19:22 |
29.9.11 Welcome pitstop on the South Downs Way between Upper Beeding and Amberley...the only pub en route. Time c 1500 Weather Outstanding. Sat outside with pint of London Pride 3.35 (Flowers and Doom Bar also available). Didn't eat but extensive menu and open all day. Bar staff filled up my water bottle for the next leg of the walk. jeremyb - 30 Sep 2011 08:33 |
I went for a meal at this pub and I can honestly say it was the worst meal I have ever had. It stated it was 'fresh' pasta, which it obviously wasn't; it disintigrated in your mouth before chewing; was obviously dry pasta cooked, frozen and reheated. I couldn't eat it and when the lady from behind the bar came to clear it away, I voiced my concerns and was told; 'you should have told me sooner!' No other offer/apology was made when I went to pay. DO NOT EAT HERE! KJM69 - 19 Jul 2011 14:43 |
