Closed. I remember this pub being very popular in the past but has apparently been closed and up for sale for sometime. ridleyman - 19 Dec 2015 13:46 |
This is a big pub (I think it used to be a hotel ?) and although there were maybe 20 people in when we visited on a Monday evening it felt quite empty. It has a large bar area and I was served quickly by a friendly girl. There was plenty of places to sit and whilst I enjoyed my pint in the relaxing surroundings it did occur to me that this pub could be really good but it has the feeling of being slightly down at heel (in the area we were sat in at least - other areas to the front of the pub looked like they had been improved recently) and rather lacking in atmosphere although I have to concede I can't think of many pubs with a 'rocking' atmosphere at 9pm on a Monday night. Just before we left a bloke with a guitar started singing and although I don't generally like that sort of thing I have to say he was very very good. BLACKTHORN.BRISTOL - 2 Sep 2012 14:46 |
Fittingly situated next to a church. There was probably more life in the graveyard than this pub on the night we went in. muzzyofrotherham - 14 Aug 2009 19:32 |
What on earth has happened to this pub? It appears to have been taken over by a chain and is always empty (everytime I visit anyway) and so lacks any atmosphere. stelladrinker - 30 Jan 2009 15:55 |
A lovely traditional pub in the centre of Falmouth with a very warm welcoming log fire burning and a lovely menu of freshly cooked bar food. Also a Sunday Roast menu which is lovely with all vegs etc fresh not frozen. A warm friendly atmosphere and a great place to stop off when shopping for a lunch. Well worth a visit!!
