Here here to all the previous comments! I've been drinking in the Vevay Inn since I was a boy and have not had a bad pint of porter in 43 years. Back in those days she was located down on the Dargle Road and was know as the The Vevay Inn, Dargle Road, Bray but thankfully in 1968 the owner at the time (John Kennedy) saw the marketing opportunity and moved her up on the back of a track machine to a small plot on the Vevay Road next to the Forte Fish shop (known in those days as Dargle Chips)and ever since she has stood as a proud monument to the Vevay Road! Couldn't agree more with the comments of paddyfurlong above! The Vevay is something special in this day and age of theme pubs and disco bars, it is an oasis in a desert of tat - Well done the Vevay Inn!! anonymous - 5 Apr 2005 15:26 |
An absolute gem of a pub with quite possibly the best pint of porter outside of Rosslare, Co Wexford! Friendly barman (Bobby in particular)a fierce good steak sandwich and a gaurantee of a conversation about the price of Diesal has made 'the vevay' a home from home. Paddyfurlong - 24 Mar 2005 12:13 |
Recently updated pub with general good craic. Food not bad and the porter is always a 9.5. Bobby the barman serves them well and looks after the regulars. Local characters include a well-known Wexford immigrant who has a seemingly endless knowledge base. Always good to buy a round as well !!! therattler - 24 Mar 2005 12:07 |
