As the Exeter was shut. Had lunch here instead. Decent food at a reasonable price, with a nice pint of Otter to wash it down. Friendly service and a nice lived in feel. captaineric - 6 Oct 2013 17:29 |
Went in there the other day and was pleasantly surprised after reading the other reviews. The food was cooked nicely, quick and plentiful. The beer was cheap and excellent. Spoke to the landlady who was very pleasant and told me she had problems with a few 'lively' people who are now banned from the pub as she wants the pub to be more family friendly. She is having a halloween party so am going to go back on that night and stay as there are rooms to rent :) Suzidoo - 9 Oct 2011 16:27 |
Good pint of Otter ale, clientel as mentioned in other reviews are a tad 'colourful', maybe not somewhere to take your granny. Hodge1 - 3 Oct 2011 06:29 |
Went yesterday for a spot of lunch. Mixed experience. The Otter beers (Ale and Bitter) were excellent. The sausages and chips were good value for the money. The landlady was pleasant and welcoming. But some of the clientele were not - drunk and foul-mouthed (at lunchtime ??). Wouldn't take anyone in there, which is a pity because this pub has improved a lot over the last ten years. davercox - 7 Aug 2011 10:03 |
