| A friendly Brunning and Price pub (the staff, the locals were clogging access to the bar oblivious to other customers), but a poor beer from Canterbury Brewery, which is unfortunately my experience with B&P. | An absolute gem! Lovely riverside location. Despite serving a wonderful looking menu with copious restaurant seating, this pub does not neglect the real ale drinker and it supplies an excellent range. They even have a very informative blackboard menu describing each ale and the distance it travelled to get to the pub! I had a delightful Adnams Broadside. They also had Aspall's on tap. | Lovely old style pub- good bar area, clean, tidy,lots of choice. Roomy beer garden with heated seating areas. The food is averge though not too expensive and will suite most- BUT, the service when we ate there was awfull,the staff seemed to be on valium or something. In the end after asking for the bill and waiting 30 mins to pay it we went to the bar to get some attention and settle the bill on our own accord, this also took another 10 mins! Anyways, as long as your ok with the mind numbing tedium of waiting for your meal you should enjoy it. ivanski - 12 Aug 2010 12:38 |
I think the George and dragon in fordwich.. Is one of the best pubs in and around Canterbury..In the last six months. Has had a refit returning the bars to old style English pub. And best of all a FREE HOUSE. I have read some of the old posts on here and remember a lot of the names. But some may remember me..
