Food ok nice Garden ,good pint of Fuggle de Dum served in a Jug.The type of Pub on a crawl you'd visit for a quick one.

Handy for the Bestival. Well, that's if you object to paying the £4.20 they charge for a can of Bulmers cider, Root beer or whatever the hell it was.
The Hare & Hounds supplied me with Goddards Fuggle Dee Dum of a good quality throughout the weekend. Apart from the odd festival goer, there weren't many other people present. Service was always prompt and courteous. The interior was spacious - nothing memorable however. Can't remember the other ale available at the time (this was September 2012) due to the Fuggle.

We actually left this pub without eating. There was only one member of staff behind the bar dealing with a huge queue of people ordering food despite the place seeming practically deserted. We were told in no uncertain terms that if we wanted to order drinks we would have to join this queue which was almost to the door. We then also overheard people being told that there was a 30-40 minute wait for food. Having checked this information with the girl behind the bar we decided to leave and find somewhere else.

The pub is a little tired and could do with a lick of paint but has a large outdoor space so I'm sure it's great for family's with kids. Wouldn't recommend for couples or anyone wanting quick or personal service.

Lovely pub, BUT if you're eating be aware that when they advertise carvery they actually mean carvery ONLY. Wasn't a problem for us, but several potential customers walked out during our visit because of this. Beer was typical Green King (actually the Fuggle was pretty good that day), but I have to say that if a cheap carvery meal is what you are after then the The Sloop Inn wins hands down (if you can get parked there!). Not bad, but I'm not really desperate to try again when the normal menu is on.....

Good selection of drinks, and a very nice bite of food as well. Not that cheap but its a touristy place so you expect it. Well worth a visit.
