Done up pub. Looks great. However, you can now reserve a table which is just a joke. So I walk into a pub and see 6 free tables I want to sit with my mates but a notice says the table will be in use for an hour from 12:45. Jokes. They cater for food and not beer anymore which is a real shame. A soulless cavern of a pub that had jumped on a similar pub grub bandwagon dsuter - 24 Mar 2016 12:42 |
I'm surprised at the low rating of this pub. Although usually not a fan of basement bars this one is fine. A pint of Greene King IPA cost 3.65, a lot cheaper than most pubs around here, and the atmosphere mid afternoon was cheerful, probably late lunching office workers given the location. Staff were efficient & friendly. I always drop in here at least once on my annual UK pub crawl as its easy to find, easy on the pocket & the punters are easy going. Not your average City pub. I am a little puzzled by the negative comments. I sometimes wonder if it is the attitude of the punter that alienates the staff. Anyway, a gang of us met here before embarking on a treasure hunt around the city. The London Pride was not on, but I had a lovely pint of Adnam's Ghost Ship (?). The prices, for a city pub, are reasonable, about 3 a pint. The food looked nice and reasonably priced. The place was nicely decked out with the Union flag. HornchurchJohn - 3 Jul 2012 15:07 |
Bought a sour Timothy Taylor...manager refused to look at me or even talk to me even tho he stood right infront of me..he decided on telling his staff that it was a fresh barrel...shrugged his shoulders and didnt care...so I dont care...shit bar, cheap shit beer...shit attitude...shit hole. rmadefc - 3 May 2012 02:08 |
Been doing a bit of a crawl around London recently looking for some good pubs and venues I came accross this underground bar on saturday and absolutely loved it!! It seems to be the only place open in this area on a saturday and they have some awesome offers on. I don't understand the other comments as on my visit the staff were fantastic, polite, friendly and made us feel really welcome. will be visiting again. LilyRose.x - 12 Dec 2011 21:52 |
