Also visited as a stranger on a Saturday afternoon. Several locals in the bar all chatting to the bar man /landlord? ordered xb pulled lovely with a small head on seemed to go flat quite quick but tasted ok. Would viit again. It was friendly enough westminster - 14 Jun 2009 21:00 |

Friendly and interesting, worth a walk around the area as well, but Batemans a little tired mtaylor40 - 8 Jul 2006 23:09 |
It's ok in here - they only do Bateman's ales which you may find tiring after a while. Worth combining this pub with a trip to The Whalebone up the road. pubcollector - 25 Jun 2006 22:59 |
A friendly local hostelry in the back streets close to the River Hull. Visiting last night as a stranger I was afforded a warm welcome, and enjoyed a perfect pint of Batemans XB. The staff are friendly, and the front bar was only empty on account of a lively birthday party being held in the other bar. A good pub, pretty well unspoilt and worth a visit. lad_newton - 13 Feb 2005 22:51 |
