Nice country pub in a village location. Food seems to be their focus. It took an eternity to get served. But in fairness to the staff, this was because they were sorting out diners orders and bills. Beers were Welbeck Abbey Henrietta & Ernest George, Greene King IPA, Adnams Broadside & Black Sheep Best Bitter. There is a small patio at the front and I believe there was a large garden at the rear. The interior comprises of 2 or 3 small rooms. blue_scrumpy - 29 Jul 2012 20:30 |
discovered this pub as the start/finish point of a country walk. What a find. nice old fashion pub that seems to be trapped in the timewarp where pubs were pubs. good food at fair prices, none of that pretensious stuff, good beer and friendly staff. highly recommended ohmygoodnight - 5 Dec 2011 08:47 |
How rare in the UK to find a pub that opens to suit customers, not the owners, and serves country inn fare at a reasonable price. This is not rocket science but you could be forgiven for thinking it is, judging by the number of moribund pubs around.A refreshing change and I never need any persuading to go here, Rienzi - 24 Sep 2010 22:20 |
found almost by accident as was heading for Thorold Arms Harmston only to find it is closed on Tuesday lunchtimes (and Monday too). But this made up for it...good beer range (I had Batemans and Robinsons) and really good food..hot and good helpings! Recommended jeremyb - 31 Oct 2008 10:51 |
Stopped here on our bikes for a Sunday lunch recently so it was our first visit. Lovely pub with good outdoor area. Good bitter and very friendly landlord and landlady. London_Imp - 24 Sep 2008 16:31 |
