Fabulous venue, the bar is bursting with country charm and character. Log fire, sumptious interior decor and extremely friendly staff. The more elegant restaurant makes the perfect venue for a celebration, with the added bonus of a champagne bar where you can order Pol Roger by the glass. Food exceptionally good. Only let down was the owner (presumed as such) who had very grubby finger nails and ladies toilets which had apparently not seen detergent in a long while and lacked the finishing touches that one would expect of an otherwise exceptional establishment. Altogether a lovely evening, would certainly recommend on the ambiance and cuisine. ljzog - 29 Apr 2010 22:40 |
Very much a restaurant pub these days - the landlord did a Basil Fawlty with me when I asked for a half pint. I'm sure it's a great place to go for food, but it's not really a drinking pub any more. Still, saying that, they have four real ales. None were from Shropshire when I was there though. dpaajones - 17 Apr 2009 16:23 |
Very good food Warm welcoming reception by all Spacious, not hurried at all I would recomend the Inn at Grinshill. Try the Sunday Lunch, however book in advance as it is very popular Martin Williamson martinii - 9 Mar 2007 17:12 |
I love this pub, the current owners have done great things, the restaurant serves some great food with locally sourced ingrdients, the bar is warm and cosy with a real fire, the staff are friendly and helpfull and there is a garden for the summer months, its a real gem of a modern country pub, and not part of a chain. In fact I liked it so much I had my Wedding reception there. trickydisco - 21 Feb 2007 12:48 |
