If you like being treated like dirt then this is the place for you! I visited the pub on a Saturday night after having been out for a meal on a friends birthday. Nothing was said to us by the staff on the door regarding the coat policy, and they were certainly not "checked" prior to entering. Yet after buying a round of drinks we were confronted by an overly aggressive member of the security staff asking us to take off our coats and put them in the cloak room. I refused to do so and what a big mistake that was! I wasn't asked to leave, instead I was physically taken hold of and marched outside. My remaining friends inside were then told I was barred, and not too surprisingly they left also before they got the same treatment. We were never anything other than polite to the staff, even after being thrown out, so to be treated in that way was completely unacceptable. Neither me, my friends or my girlfriend have ever been in a venue which enforces this kind of coat policy. So in my opinion it's just a ruse to get an extra few quid out of people. I had also never been asked to leave, or thrown out of a venue before. So hopefully by avoiding The Bell, I never will again. boosh123 - 27 Jan 2008 17:59 |
