Rural pub in a picturesque setting on a hill. The car park and beer garden are opposite and across the road. The front door opens straight out onto the lane. Watch out for vehicles and the multitude of cyclists when you step out. This is a quiet pub with a few people in for the limited menu and one drinker with his dog sat at the bar. The highlight was when another dog entered and there appeared to be a minor disagreement. The two real ales were Fuller's London Pride & Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold. blue_scrumpy - 4 Nov 2018 11:44 |
Madam and I visited for a quick lunch snack. The London Pride was excellent. Madam had a jacket potato with cheese, freshly prepared and delicious. I selected salmon fishcakes which were OK but probably straight out of Brake Bros' catalogue and, I thought, rather pricey. The pub was quiet (dammit, how many aren't at present?) ut the staff friendly and cheerful. Meadway - 3 Jun 2009 20:07 |
Nice beer but the food is not very good. In fact. had a steak which tasted like it was tesco budget quality and was poorly prepared. Shame but true. Still a lovely building though. chapchap27 - 10 Aug 2008 16:38 |
Went again Friday lunchtime with my wife and 8 year old daughter. Great pint of TT Landlord and a wonderful lunch of wild duck and pheasant. Keep up the good work folks. bigcolchelseafan - 12 Nov 2007 05:01 |
Great lunchtime pub but can get a bit cliquey at night. Had a lovely pint of Bath Spa Wednesday lunchtime and a Brie & bacon stuffie. The food is always good if a little pricey but you do get what you pay for. Nice sunny garden by the river across the lane. bigcolchelseafan - 15 Sep 2007 06:25 |
