Ember Inns chain pub - three cask ales available (the one I tried was well kept) plus a reasonable food menu. From my perspective, the "no under 14s" policy is welcomed as too often, chain pubs serving food are spoilt by kids running rampant. alexw - 6 Oct 2011 13:02 |
The pub doesn't alow under 14's in because it's meant to be more of grown up pub, where if you had been at work all day and fancied a meal or a drink it's like a home a way from home. No children, no loud music, large selection of drinks and food. A chill out. The staff are friendly, chatty and lovely and would never have spoken to you like that. Disgusted. I had stopped here briefly for a drink a few weeks ago and thought the beer was good so decided to take some close friends of mine for lunch as they had come over to meet my 2 week old son. Within seconds of walking in with the pram, the girl behind the bar looked at me like I had wheeled in a dead dog and shouted at us "er, no kids allowed". He was asleep and silent at the time so quite how he was more offensive to the patrons than, say, a stag do, is beyond me. We went to the Bears Head in Brereton instead which is a far superior pub. Second leg of Anorak Tour 2009 and pub is 5 minute walk from Station. Had 1 pint of lager and 4 pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord but general opinion was that they were inferior to those drunk in the Fox Inn. 10menwenttomow - 25 Aug 2009 10:57 |
Lots of rooms in this chain pub, very tidy and the staff were very attentive. Hand pulled beers were Banks Bitter, Taylors Landlord and Adnams Explorer - had several pints of the latter which was top notch. Menu was typical chain stuff but reasonably priced and we had no complaints. Will call again. JBGatelad - 11 Aug 2009 16:31 |
