After one last pub in the city centre (Yates's!), we took the bus out to this Ember Inns pub. It's a typical branch of this chain, in all apart from the real ale selection. They're supposed to have 5 beers. But most were "coming soon". The only two on were Black Sheep Ember Pale Ale & Thwaite's Wainwright. Very disappointing, especially whey they offer tasting paddles. The food looked nice though. Probably the worst Ember Inn I've been in. blue_scrumpy - 13 Aug 2018 18:57 |
Popular with all female groups. Mikael88 - 14 Nov 2008 23:09 |
Very modern decor. Recently refurbed again. Clean. Some good ales and chain food. Suitable for girlfriends. No kids allowed. A better class of pub. Mikael88 - 14 Nov 2008 23:08 |
I know this pub is gets busy around midweek & at Weekends, some people go for food, some for the midweek mature totty + also for younger class Totty at weekends too,not too sure about opening/closing times as its on a regular pubroute for our clan, though we usually end it closer to home (stupid Bus Timetable). taximodernist - 15 Jun 2008 21:41 |
From a long-term local I thought I'd chip in here. Where Stu thinks it is a Banks's pub is beyond me. Strange thing to say but never mind. Historically the Pup & Pistol has gone through a lot. From footballers - and a few of the hooligan elements, to a dive in fortunes in the 80's it has enjoyed a significant resurgance as a good night out. Sadly this does sometimes attract the knuckle-draggers and pikies but that's the risk when you have a decent boozer. Gets very busy from Thursday to Saturday but remains a pretty friendly place and if you're new to Tettenhall then you'll make plenty of friends in here. Lastly, since when was Tettenhall Pool infamous? What a nonsensical comment! beerbellypete - 20 Jul 2007 08:47 |
