Landlord, Dave is knowledgeable about the extensive & ever-changing range of best bitter beers on offer. The Thai food is always a delight too. Make this your first port of call whenever you visit Cirencester, you won't be disappointed. Beerhunter66 - 21 Mar 2013 12:27 |
David and Minty recently took over the Waggon. They've still got a good selection of well kept real ales. The menu now has decidedly Thai feel and the food is great. Well worth a visit. smallblondeperson - 26 Jul 2010 14:44 |
This was the last of 10 pubs we visited in Gloucestershire yesterday. By the way, the 9th was the Corinium Hotel in Cirencester (not listed here), which was the worst of the 10 with no real ales. The Waggon & Horses was decorated in a modern style with a single room bar. There were 6 handpulls on the bar but only 2 real ales - Butcombe Gold and Wye Valley Dorothy Goodbody's Golden Ale. It was comfortable and by far the best of the two Cirencester pubs we visited. But on this visit, I would say that there is a serious gap in the market for a decent real ale pub in the town. blue_scrumpy - 6 Mar 2010 12:30 |
Was very impressed by the quality of this tavern which must have been recently renovated since everything sparkled. There was a good selection of beer, the food was excellent, and the staff made me most welcome. Definately the one to use when in Cirencester grifisher - 22 Aug 2008 10:28 |
Excellent food and the Real Ales are probably the Best in Cirencester. We had a wonderful friendly people and atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit. fromacorns - 19 Aug 2008 11:46 |
