Popped in out of curiosity on what turned out to be the first proper night of opening. Eight real ales and a couple of ciders on hand pull plus a few interesting looking kegs. I had a pint of Oakham Citra which was good, and a pint of Summit for the Weekend from Elland brewery which was really well kept. Obviously still finding its feet, this place has loads of promise, is friendly and deserves a try. Chief_Chufty - 23 Feb 2014 00:50 |
The Smithfield has just been revived and Hanley has finely got a long awaited Free House serving a fabulous ever changing selection of beers from all around the country. I popped in for a drink on their opening night and had 3 pints of Castle Rock Harvest Pale and it was excellent!!!!! I believe the owner, Nigel Barker, has 3 extremely successful pubs in Birmingham city centre. Good luck to him and well done for having brought to Hanley what ale enthusiasts have been longing for. winniethepoo - 22 Feb 2014 22:50 |
Not sure why this was previously only rated 4 unless it was from some time ago. We visited there yesterday for the first time and thought the place was great: nicely done out, food was very good, drinks reasonably priced, great music, staff very friendly and helpful. We will certainly visit there again next time we're in Hanley. Elly - 3 Oct 2007 17:02 |
