Dropped in to see what it was like and found gingham cloths on all the tables; Greene King; dead atmosphere. Must have been a lovely pub once. Ridgeway.Rambler - 16 Apr 2013 17:33 |
Has changed hands and is not the better for it as the food is standardized and the atmosphere deadened. Guess what? Yes - Greene King are in town. It's about time they got their grubby mitts off our pubs - apparently the perfectly good publicans who ran it before were driven out by corporate demands. BoehmBawerk - 15 Nov 2012 14:14 |
Super pub food arrived very quickly not massive portions but v acceptable quality. Great ambience Helpful staff Only issue was limited choice of GK beer IPA is personally a very inferior std bitter though seasonal Conker Bonker was decent shame no guest downsview - 12 Sep 2012 16:54 |
I really cannot fault this pub. We stopped for lunch; two very well kept beers on draught, Tiger and Greene King IPA. The staff were friendly and efficient, the pub and garden were lovely and the food was excellent and extemely reasonably priced for the quality. We'll definitely be back. smallblondeperson - 26 Jul 2010 14:35 |
We had here last week and travel a long way to meet friends half way. The food and service were very good and the setting was also lovely. We will definitely be using this as our meeting place in the future. rtraynor - 10 Jun 2010 13:31 |
