Cambridge has so many better pubs to offer - check out Kingston, Cambridge Blue, St Radegund (no food) all take a pride in their real ale and if you're unfamiliar with a beer you'll get a taster. The reason the Panton doesn't give out tasters is cos it's greene king IPA. Who wanna taste that?? jamie.nakin - 3 May 2013 21:47 |
We visited this pub last year .After making our food order i asked for a taster of one of the ales, the manager,a gruff sad looking man said"we dont do tasters" .Upon this we put down the menus he then said "go on off you go"I will never go again. gripesy - 3 May 2013 19:37 |
Went there on Saturday evening. A roomy pub with a good sized outdoor area . Quiet but pleasant. Friendly staff. Good IPA and a decent selection of real ales, Dizzy Blonde and Old Hooky amongst them. Food was reasonably priced and we ate decent burgers. Much more attractive than some of the touristy placed further in to town. Would go again. sheahanmick - 4 Jun 2012 12:25 |
I have just returned to the office after lunch with colleagues at the Panton Arms, which we chose as a change to our regular venue, the Salisbury Arms. Suffice to say we will not return any time soon. The first of our food orders (made before 12:45) did not arrive until after 1:30 and the others had to wait over an hour for their food. During this time other tables were given odd plates of food, but no one table received all their food in one go. A hurried "Sorry, but 40 people came in at once" doesn't really wash when it's Friday lunchtime and the pub is only about 75% full. njb - 24 Sep 2010 14:40 |
