| Have only been here during the afternoon when it's been empty, which, given its size, makes it feel like you're drinking in a library. | Large mock victorian pub next to Playhouse Theatre. It's only 15 years old but was very well fitted-out and actually looks like a real victorian pub. Survives on coach trippers going to shows next door. (VERY busy for the 2 hours before each show so probably best avoided then) Otherwise during the day it's a pleasant, well run pub, walls covered with theatre posters, two real log fires in winter, serves food all day,free newspapers. | Stunning looking boozer,nice decor with plenty of space and friendly staff, but on commenting that my heineken was off the barmaid responded with a shrug off her shoulders . For that im reluctant to return . Its got a nice big screen at the front for footy but i get the feeling food being served to the pre theater crowd is the priority here .
