This pub has now closed for good, and is being converted into a 4 bedroom house. 066007 - 27 Sep 2011 08:48 |
After being closed for a few months, temporary managers started from october, none particularly good, but then in November the old Landlord and Landlady from The Hart of Costessey took over as TAW's immediatly there was a change for the better, they brought a strong following and were welcoming, they cleaned the pub up, stopped the troublemakers and brought in a good range of drinks; no on tap ale as Punch would not install the lines, the same as no fizzy drink tap, but they supplied them by the bottle as to ensure a good offering. Unfortunatly this pub is closing yet again very soon due to the local residents constantly complaining about noise and crowds gathering - the landlord even went to the residents meetings and gave out his number saying for people to call him if there were any issues, they chose not to and now because of this they are too worried to put on music or events. So well done residents of Sussex Street, you have lost us yet another good local pub, Save Our Local obviously isnt being supported, what a shame chink888 - 2 Jul 2010 16:19 |
The pub is now closed and boarded over like all the others that the last publican has been in. steviebabyxxx - 8 Jul 2009 00:48 |
this pub could be great but isn't..why? The interior is fine and deceptively spacious with a clean look. They show skysports on a huge projector and other tv's, but theres no one in there to enjoy it. The curtains are closed putting off passers by and the fact it has sky is not made clear enough outside. The pub has no real ales at all and a limited drink range. comfortable place to have a drink but open those curtains, serve some cask beers and make the place the inviting pub it clearly should be. alundra - 22 Dec 2007 18:43 |
