Locals pub set in the Suffolk countryside. It's a fairly modern-looking interior. But this pub is clearly at the heart of the community. 4 ales were being dispensed - Greene King Abbot, Adnams Bitter & Broadside & Lacons Encore. International football was being shown on the TV and there is a darts board in one corner. There's an undercover smoking area outside to the side. blue_scrumpy - 23 May 2016 19:26 |
Very friendly pub - landlord, landlady and customers. Moreover the beer was excellent (several real ales all the ones we tried were great) Good range of food at lunchtime. Visited Fri 17th June. LindaM13 - 23 Jun 2011 18:57 |
First impressions count - locals blocking the bar and felt I was being ignored. A shame because I can see the pub has a lot going for it (decent beer range) and will try again. mtaylor40 - 1 Jun 2009 19:33 |
Fantastic range of well kept beers: Jive Bunny, Seafarers, Spring Zing, Bad Egg, Red McGreggor, Adnams Best & Abbot Reserve on my Wednesday night visit. Also had a few good malt whiskies. The beer was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Appears to do food and would imagine it to be quite good but that's purely guess work. Might have to pay a visit for a meal at some stage. Wow what an improvementPopped in after an afternoon cycling for a quick pint, ended up sampling 5 jars of beautifully kept ales (including two I have never sampled before). The place has undergone a transformation by the new family from Hertfordshire with new chairs and outdoor seating, an excellent pub menu, outstanding beers and both doors now open.though of course as a Suffolk tradition you should always exit the same door you enteredIf I remembered on this occasion well done me, however pushing the bike home was a chore for the now wobbly bob! One final note a Beer festival is planned for the end of July, Hurrah..!! Jammahn - 30 Jun 2008 17:27 |
