Sadly closed down. If rumours are correct the "pubco" has sold it for redevelopment!

Back here again after another few years away. We stopped coming here because the Refectory offered a much better choice in beers. Things have changed marginally. There are beers from Sharps Doom Bar (yawn) and Hogs Back Tea (probably another yawn) and Hobgoblin Bountiful which I hadn't had before and was ok. Having said that we'd just been to the Refectory and had Dark Star Hophead and a summer beer from Kings of Horsham which were delicious. I could be wrong but I suspect a boring Punch guest beer listing, one of the reasons perhaps that company make eye watering losses. The menu looked ok if a little pricey but we shall return to try the dining. However the thing that makes us go to a pub is the choice of beer and our spending on food follows from that, always. If that's not right sadly we won't return, which is shame as it's a real pub in the village with lots of history.

Thought i would scribble a quick review for the newly refurbished White Lion in Milford. Used to be a full on drinkers pub but the venue has been tastefully renovated and looks spic and span. Bar in the same place as before and you can still belly up and enjoy a drink and a chat with the owner or his daughter. Obviously much more food focused than before but still a traditional pub with a nice snug, wing backs by the fire etc. Food choice is excellent as are the home made nibbles, early days but not a bad crowd in when i popped in. Three good bitters on the ramp and a decent choice of lagers and ciders if that is your thing. Spoke to several diners who were raving about the food and seem genuinely pleased that their local has upped its game. Give it a try either for a beer or a great meal.

Gave this place another go and I'm glad I did. Staff were a lot more friendly and the experience overall was very good. Food is excellent here and I would recommend it.

Popped in for a snack on Saturday lunchtime. Was looking for an ale and a sandwich, but was told that the kitchen staff had been sent home - it was 1.30pm ! To be fair it was quiet and I was the only customer. Make your own conclusion.
