Very much geared towards a dining experience now with a newly decorated bar and restaurant. Clean and tidy in a way it never was before, but it seems to be lacking in customers these days. The beer is excellent though. Food?...it's good, but very slow service and a long, long wait if they're busy. Tricky to fit in for a lunch hour. BoozyBill - 2 Nov 2014 14:02 |
Well it looks like they found some matches to light the fire. Three beers Otter Bitter, Amber and the uninspiring Hobgoblin. The Bitter was nice but then at 3.60 a pint, it should be. Lunchtime sandwiches with chips come in at just under 6 and are okay. Is it me or is there a lack of seats in this place? Check out the newly opened section of The Wey and Arun Canal further down the lane. GazzaTheBeerMan - 7 Nov 2012 16:37 |
Yet another wannabe Gastro pub! This is a real shame that once again people want to change the market that there pub is aimed at. Fact 1 The three compasses was a good boys pub , not a place to take a lady to but a proper boozer Fact 2 The three compasses was never amazing food but was good pub grub at pub prices All the above is finished the cheapest main course is 10.90 and is laughable, they want to be a Gastro then serve decent wine not the rubbish currently being sold! and light the fire! It is a shame that they have tried to change it but I hope they realise sooner than later that this mix just doesnt work or I fear that yet enough local pub will go bust again. 3 out of 10 beerdrinker255 - 18 Nov 2011 10:39 |
A great traditional pub, which recently has changed hands. Decor, bar, kitchen and toilets been upgraded, a lot brighter. Still focussing on 3 real ales, decent cider and there is a good selection of wine. Staff and regulars seem friendly enough and the food was of a good standard. Its worth a visit. greengu11 - 16 Nov 2011 10:54 |
