Very expensive cask beer. Fish though was fresh and had a light batter. Atmosphere is ok but could be a fantastic pub. Tip: staff should wear uniforms. bamberg1 - 2 Jul 2012 15:19 |
I don't believe it this pub is the same as the Kings Head in Orford charging over the odds on the duty exempt beer! What is it about Orford that they feel they can rip the customer off by charging over the odds? Presumably they rely on customers on holiday who don't really check what things cost and blindly pay the charges. More fool them is all I can say because if a pub is ripping them off to the tune of 75 pence a pint what must they be ripping them off on the more expensive items like food? I shudder to think, oh well another pub I won't be visiting again in Orford! GussGuzzler - 27 Apr 2012 22:43 |
This is, and has always been, a Pub that time forgot (thank God). We have'nt been there for a bit due to the shifting bar on the sea approaches but when we last called there was a chart available from behind the bar for a pound from a local who had taken up to date chart soundings to help yachts. A totally brilliant old, unspoiled Pub! - WARNING: not to be confused with "The Jolly Sailor'S' " Pakefield, Lowestoft whch is a plastic microwave eatary (look it up)... Elleven out of ten... js12345 - 3 Feb 2012 22:18 |
Visited Friday to try the place very dissapointed with lots of aspects of the place, but most of all the food was cold and the first pint of bitter was off. Never again. rustheap - 5 Dec 2011 08:51 |
Under new ownership the last landlord run the place down with expensive food and beer, the new landlord has changed very little but the problem is they have no idea of how to run a pub. Terrible place shame as it`s in a nice position a good landlord would really do this pub proud. But not this Landlord. andyw1260 - 27 Nov 2011 14:12 |
