14th Century pub near to the church. This is a lovely pub went there with the wife 3 times and had fab evenings . The owner was chatting to us keeping us amused with some Olde Gags
The food was delicious and the staff were great. We had to wait for a table but my Belly pork was worth the wait*****
could do more veggie choices (for the wife) but we will still both be back
This visit made our holiday........Its my favourite pub in the area. Wehad good walks in the area and the River Orwell is nearby.

We used to come to this pub in early 70s when there was jsut a hole in the wall from which beer was served.

A wonderful pub with excellent food and friendly efficient staff.

It's a really welcoming place

Pleasant little beer garden out the back. Sorry for the spelling on the previous post.

Lovely rural pub with low beans in the bar and lots of seafaring memoribillia. Popped in on a Tuesday night for something to eat and it was already busy... by the time it got to 7.15pm people were waiting to be seated. Food was excellent with lots of locally caught fish on it. Three ales available (all from Adnams), Explorer and Broadside on handpump and Best straight from the barrel (clear and tasty) and also a variety of wine (from the glass or bottle). Great place to go for a meal but get there early.

Ambience quite good, nicely situated. More renowned for it's food than it's beer, however, which is a shame since in my experience (two visits - won't go again) the food is vastly overrated. Upon my last visit I paid an exhorbitant 16 for a steak, half of which was fat, which was accompanied by four potato wedgies, a very small, bland helping of salad, and not a lot else. I complained and was told that it was due to the chef being "stressed out" that evening! Not recommended.
