I remember this as an excellent pub originally called the Station Hotel. I used to go in there religiously every Friday after spending an evening learning to ballroom dance at the Court School of dancing (above the old cinema) in Bellegrove road, both of which have now gone. The Station Hotel then changed to the Station Pub, this was even better. I remember going in there on my 21st birthday and drinking Hurricane Hattie cocktails - never knew what they were made of but were fantastic, best cocktail I have ever tasted. The decor was stylish and classy, sort of piano bar. I remember when seeing it as the Inferno years later how horrified I was at what was once a lovely pub. compassrose1 - 24 Oct 2008 17:37 |
The New Moon and Sixpence closed sometime in 2004 and reopened the same year as Infernos. All the reviews on this page dont refer to its old guise (including by yours truly) and relate to its latest incarnation, but Infernos is now thankfully listed on its own. HTM69 - 20 Mar 2007 10:21 |
Gooners comments are a bit harsh. Dj's on a friday and Saturday night are a lot better now than before. Pat anonymous - 6 Nov 2006 04:30 |
Real shame that this pub is always empty on a fri and sat, I suppose it does not help when the Dj is playing the same old music night in night out and wont change it when asked. This place really could be buzzing if they got in the right management and did the place up a bit and also did some theme nights. Oh well we can only dream. Gooner. - 25 Aug 2006 04:04 |
