Closed. This place is now a take away chip (a good one but on the expensive side) and a Turkish restaurant (again a pretty good one but no real ale).

Just to let you all know that as of 1st August the pub was taken over by new management. In fact the old landlord was asked to leave!!
The new person in charge is a very nice lady called Noleen who has a big task on her hands trying to get all the old customers back after the damage that was done in the last 10 months. It has only been 2 weeks and there is a definate improvement already and there is a completely different atmosphere in there now already. So all you guys that have been away come back. That includes the Pool, Darts and Football teams. They are also getting live bands back, and organising Wii nights and Karioke. Watch this space!! Good to have the old pub back.

The John Bull is a small pub with a stage area for live bands (but the view's not great if your stood behind the post) however, the bar staff are very friendly and hospitable so you soon forget the post!
Great atmosphere if you like to spend the evening watching rock bands and they also have Ska and soul.
It would be nice if there were a selaction of real ales.
Overall a great place to spend a Friday or Saturday night and the opportunity to mosh and slosh to some great rock and roll with a lively crowd. Who remembers the Railway?
