Posh, in a pub chainy kind of the way. The sort of place where the food comes in on the back of a lorry, i would think. Nice pint of pure amber ale. Only problem was the fire was billowing smoke into the pub. Mappiman - 4 Mar 2014 07:16 |
Been in since the makeover - you wouldn't know. This is a good pub with nice food and beer but we left due to the clientele - noisy chavs out for a "posh nosh" who couldn't even use a knife and fork properly. It put me right off my pint having to sit next to them. I know some would say who cares but when did the British become so common? And when did parents/school meals assistants stop teaching kids how to eat politely? Tancred - 6 Feb 2012 09:29 |
Nice comfortable pub with oak panelling and friendly bar staff. Usually 3 real ales on (2 at 3.15 but the guest ale is 3.50!!! on occasions). Food is variable. Had a cracking Lancashire hotpot and the Hunter's Chicken was very nice too. However more recently both my wife and I tried the 8oz burger which was very dry and heavy going. Will go back again but not too often as I think they are top whack on the ale pricing. Daleite - 26 May 2011 18:24 |

Went there for Xmas dinner last year, going again this year + we are going on another two occasions to the Xmas fair lunch so we can sample the whole menu. Excellent food need I say anymore. Great beer garden in the summer & roaring log fire in winter very comfortable. blenheim - 9 Nov 2010 11:20 |
