Fantastic pub...Beer, Food and Staff 10 out of 10...What I would call a true Cornish pub of the highest order...As other have said before - "We use this pub as often as we can" Although we live 15 miles away, we aim to get her at least once a week. Sparge_Master - 4 Dec 2010 16:32 |
We use this pub as often as we can, it being conveniently located close to the A30. It was threatened a year or so ago with possible closure but the present landlady has made a good pub even better. There is always a good variety of real ales and interesting cider and the menu includes both regular pub dishes and some interesting daily specials - all at very fair prices. There are two bars, one with games and one for drinking and eating - both frequented by appreciative locals. A further room serves as a restaurant when the place is busy - as it always is on Sunday lunchtimes. Altogether a good place: a free house and with genuine unpretentious character. Excellent home cooked food. Good beers and friendly cheerful staff and regulars. A good first stop in Cornwall. chaswrd - 16 May 2008 12:38 |

I grew up in and around this area, and this pub has alot of great memories. It has changed hands many times and we have always accepted each new landlord that came The Kings Head way!! This great old pub is not appreciated enough, and should be appreciated more! Tiggs - 20 Dec 2004 17:04 |
