Blimey, I cant believe that this pub hasnt been commented on for three and a half years as it is in a busy part of town. To be honest its not really worthy of much comment as I can compare the atmosphere to that of the Britannia in Euston Station, which is not a standard to be aspiring to. There are five hand pumps with Bombardier on two of them and a Landlord and two unused. Peroni is also available alongside a standard draught selection and I have to report that my Guinness was below par. There are three plasma screens, two of which were showing the videos to the R and B music that was polluting the air and the other screen was showing Sky Sports News which was muted. The barmaid was nice enough and she didnt ask me if I wanted nuts or crisps with my pint, but this is not enough for me to frequent this pub again. Strongers - 27 Sep 2009 22:45 |
Popped in here to get out of the rain. Overpriced smoke filled boozer. Guinness was off so tried a pint of Bombardier which was one of the worst pints I've had in recent times. Stayed cloudy and the barperson really didn't want to change it for me. Eventually they did but even thought the next one cleared it tasted off. Decided that Id rather get soaked and left. The only thing that saves this place is that it's a good place to stand outside when the sun has got his hat on, and the Landlord is avery nice chap. Tis true that one emerges from this establishment smelling like you've been rolling around the ashtray for an hour, but that aside, not a bad place to sample the local firwater. steve2136 - 12 Jan 2006 13:43 |
How did this get 6/10 as a rating? If you like a smoke aroma to your suit within 5 mins of stepping in somewhere then come on down.. i'd give it 4/10 for serving a reasonably priced pint, not being a pretentious bar, and having a function room downstairs which is of some use for the office above. mulletintheevening - 12 Apr 2005 16:17 |
i used to work in the offices above this pub,...was good for a swift half on a fag break,....And it was also my venue of choice to watch the 9/11 footage unfurl as and when it was happening,....never watched anything else on the TV in there though,....always deserted after 8pm,...... kmcs - 31 Mar 2005 13:33 |
