it`s really sad to see this place go downhill fast, when it was a social club i was a member for nearly 10 years, saturday nights were packed to capacity and sunday night you had a different crowd who were there for the entertainment, i didn`t go in during the week because of my work. But now after a sucession of managers, it`s now run by an asian father & son who have a different perspective on things , they are doing their best , but why spend money on a place when you can`t get decent people through the door. roythetrucker - 11 Oct 2008 00:56 |
this used to be a good place years ago, but, it has got steadily worse since my last post and i have to agree with midlands_drinker.It`s now owned by the asian community , the beer has improved somewhat but i`m afraid i don`t like punjabi music roythetrucker - 23 Mar 2008 13:00 |
WHo called this place a pub ? I've been thrown out of worse doss holes than this. Whoever owns this place is a disgrace to the pub profession because its dirty, the manager is a cocky know it all who would argue the arse end off a donkey. Whoever taught him how to keep beer wants locking up because I've had some dodgy pints in my time but this place takes it to a whole new level. If I wanted vinegar Id go out and buy some Sarsons. Not pay over the top for something which they claim to be a real ale, but would be better thrown over your chips. THeres only one thing good about this pub, and thats the door that takes you out of it... midlands_drinker - 27 Jan 2007 09:25 |
When I visited this place a few months back advertising suggested it would have Highgate Dark MILD, but it only has Banks's MILD. This bingo hall trying to be a pub has a very cold atmosphere. A typical holiday club nightmare, but even worse it's on the Dudley Road at Fighting Cocks. Stus.search.4.mild - 20 May 2006 12:23 |
