Though we continued to use the Maudslay, we had not been there for a couple of months and when we went there last weekend I was shocked to find out that the temporary problem regarding Mild that we encountered at the beginning of last year has apparantly for a couple of months now been turned into a permanent state of affairs. So having drank at the Maudslay since 1968 I'll now not be doing so. Its a shame. Phil PhilT4Mild - 26 Jun 2019 12:17 |
Sorry to say that The Maudslay is not as good as it used to be. On a visit there earlier in the month there was no Mild!!! That is the first time I've known that in the 40 years I've used the pub. Shame!!! They did have a wide choice otherwise though. PhilT4Mild - 26 Jan 2018 16:56 |
Called in a couple of weeks back for a midweek pint. Ordered a Great Yorkshire 'Hadleys' beer. It was 'off' to the point of being undrinkable. The barmaid quickly responded by offering an alternative ale free of charge. I chose the Timothy Taylor Boltmaker that was in excellent condition. This was a really nice gesture and is the sort of thing that separates the good from the bad pubs nowadays. I will definitely be back. Lehumpt - 9 Sep 2015 21:22 |
Perhaps I'm sad but this is my favourite pub. Why: 1) It sells M & B Mild 2) It sells Mild 3) It sells its Mild at a "fair" price 4) Nice ambience 5) Reasonable facilities for smokers (I'm not a smoker but do believe that smokers must be catered for) 6) Its within walking distance for me 7) Pleasant staff that provide an efficient service 8) The beer is kept well (the Mild that is) 9) Oh yes, did I say that they serve Mild?
