| Unremarkable-looking pub on the edge of the village. It has 3 separate areas, a long bar room, and on either side of this a small, traditionally furnished TV room and a Chinese restaurant(!) to the left as you enter. Not sure about the last one, enterprising perhaps, but at least the owners have had the sense to limit the operation to one end of the building and so keep the rest a real pub. The real ales on offer are from the local Weetwood brewery, with Cheshire Cat, Eastgate Ale and also Black Sheep as a guest. Cheshire cat was excellent. It's not a must-visit and on the whole is unremarkable, but the beer was excellent and for this reason I'd be happy to return. Carlurmston - 19 Jun 2010 11:57 |
| Very friendly pub that serves a range of some good ales very well. Landord will on purpose serve the branded spirits instead of the cheaper ones, so watch out for this naughty practice! New Chinese Restaurant (and takeaway) opened a few weeks ago and food is much better (although more expensive) - if they don't loose your order or serve you the wrong meals! Dogs welcome.
