This pub is now called the Juniper Green Inn. It's well outside of the centre of Edinburgh, but was near where I was staying. So I started here on Monday lunchtime. Only one other customer was in. But I guess most pubs would be quiet on a Monday lunchtime. Ales were Morland Original, Taylor Landlord, Caledonian Deuchars IPA & Orkney Corncrake Ale. I was still recovering from the previous day's exertions and cheated with a soft drink! blue_scrumpy - 30 Jul 2015 21:22 |
An average pub with reasonable beer. Rather dull, but ok for a quiet pint on a cold afternoon. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here, so I wonder why it's in GBG when there are better pubs around? ETA - 6 Jan 2009 14:50 |
The Juniper Inn used to be the Railway, which was an excellent pub. There were many evenings spent in there with the boys enjoying the exceptionally good lager. It is the ideal pub to enjoy a few pints, before having a good old fashioned curry at nearby Adam Tandoori. I was pleased to see that the plumber had visited the pub and fixed the leaking cistern from the last time I was there, which appeared to have been ripped off the wall by a guy who looked a lot like Simon Cowell. Best pub in the area. euanwilson - 20 Dec 2007 16:12 |
Pub appears to have changed hands but little else has changed apart from a lick of paint and a name change (think it is now the Juniper Inn). Unremarkable local but okay if you are passing. ljotrulf - 27 Aug 2007 21:56 |
